We are a small specialized company who can give our clients the attention and responsiveness they deserve without the high costs of covering large overhead expenses!
Additionally, many inspectors primarily perform home inspections and focus on residential construction. Joe Hogan, Principal at Hogan Associates, specializes in Commercial Building Inspections and Property Condition Assessments.

Bio
Building inspections, Property Condition Assessments, and Due Diligence methods and procedures are based on the experience of its principal, Joe Hogan. He has performed more than 3,000 combined building inspections, Property Condition Assessments, environmental site assessments, and indoor air quality assessments of real estate properties. Education, training, and experience is concentrated in the fields of construction, building methods & materials, building sciences, indoor air quality, electrical & mechanical equipment, and environmental science. Mr. Hogan has extensive experience and competency in ascertaining the physical condition of commercial, retail, industrial, institutional, and residential buildings. Mr. Hogan personally conducts ALL building inspections and assessments, prepares the Property Condition and Building Inspection Reports and manages each and every project.

NACBI and InterNachi Certified Commercial Building Inspector
Trained and board certified in building inspections by the National Association of Commercial Building Inspector (Board Certified Master Commercial Building Inspector), American Building Sciences Academy, Barre Vt, along with Commercial Property Inspections from the Inspection Training Associates. Achieved specialized knowledge based on classroom training and field experience in the inspection and assessment of building envelopes, structures, HVAC equipment and operation, electrical & plumbing systems, site components, and preparing reports with findings and recommendations on building conditions, defects, and deferred maintenance. Trained and educated in utilizing the ASTM standards for commercial building inspections, Property Condition Assessments (PCA), and preparing Property Condition Reports (PCR).
Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE)
The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) is the certifying body for the CIE. The designation is designed to recognize knowledge and field experience associated with environmental building conditions and indoor air quality. The CIE is educated and trained to understand a wide range of indoor environmental quality disciplines such as: Industrial Hygiene, Building Sciences, Environmental Risk Assessment, HVAC design and operation, contaminants, sampling, building assessment, and Infrared Thermography.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
Master Level #12669 Certified by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, Rockville, MD. A CHMM is a credentialed professional who is recognized as proficient in the field of hazardous materials, environmental management, and regulations. A CHMM provides acknowledgment of demonstrated expertise and high level of knowledge in the assessment and management of hazardous materials and environmental science. A CHMM has demonstrated their personal commitment to professional excellence.
The CIE and CHMM certifications are accredited by the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB). The CESB is a nationally recognized independent accreditation body founded in 1990 to provide standards for engineering related certification programs. The CESB-accredited programs must follow strict guidelines for integrity and independence in their policies and operations. CESB accreditation is a mark of superior quality and distinguishes the well known CIE and CHMM designations.

Training
For the past 20+ years, in order to acquire and maintain certifications & credentials, Mr. Hogan has regularly attended continuing education workshops and seminars on building systems, construction methods and materials, property condition assessments, building sciences, indoor air quality sciences, and building code compliance. Seminars, classes, and training consist of more than 1,500 hrs of classroom training, field training, apprenticeship, field equipment use and monitoring, analysis, reporting, regulations, and inspection and due diligence reporting. With a diverse and constantly changing field, continued education ensures that clients receive nothing but the best service available.
